Sitting still for too long

Whether it’s collapsing on the couch to watch sports for the rest of the afternoon, jumping into a car for the long drive home, or sitting on the office chair and claiming you are working for hours, a long stretch of sitting is a recipe for feeling stiff and sluggish.
You don’t need to be constantly moving so I am not suggesting get back on your bike. However, I strongly recommend that after a hard session that you get up and walk around every 30 minutes or so rather than sitting still for hours.
The movement helps maintain muscle action which in turn stimulates the processes that keep oxygenated blood passing through those tired muscles.
Try some self-massage on the legs or even a massage therapy machine (when you are sitting) Foam rolling and stretching will also help. Find what works for you but have some form of active recovery built into your plan.
